Marching Band starts in late July where practice is minimal and ends in early November. All members must be present for the two weeks of band camp in mid-August as well as all other rehearsals. Rehearsals during the school year are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:00 and Wednesday afternoons from 2:15-4:15. Performances are approximately five Friday night football games, seven Saturday competitions, and ACCs (Atlantic Coast Championships) if eligible. This is a time-consuming activity and you must be very dedicated to join. However, the hard work you put into it is well worth the rewards of forming life-long friendships and memories with a team of band members. With learning drill and music at band camp, cleaning and adding visuals at night practices, performing at football games, and feeling the satisfaction of earning an award at local as well as overnight competitions, marching band is an experience you never will or want to forget. |
