Brass Instructor

A Virginia Beach native, and graduate of First Colonial high school in 2005, Garrett has been involved in music and the marching activity for most of his life. After picking up the trumpet in 6th grade, he went on to learn several other instruments including baritone/euphonium, trombone, alto and tenor saxophone, and the piano. He started his marching career on baritone at Ocean Lakes high school his freshman year, but then transferred to FC where he finished out his last 3 years of high school. In the summer of 2003, at the young age of 15, Garrett landed a lead baritone spot with the world class Crossmen drum and bugle corps. He continued to march with the Crossmen for six summers (03, 05-09), where he served as a drum major for one year, and just recently aged out this past summer as their horn sergeant. This is Garrett's second year teaching the brass line at Cox high school. Garrett approaches the job with great passion and enthusiasm. He is very excited about this season and hopes to bring the Cox band to new levels of excellence and renown in the area. You can email Garrett at Gdillon87@gmail.com
